I am a native English teacher with around 15 years of experience in schools across Ireland, Denmark, the Middle East and Asia.
My academic background includes a BA (Hons.) in Business and Irish, an MEd in Pastoral Care, Guidance and Pupil Support, and I am currently awaiting the final results of my MSc in Psychology. I believe that understanding people and the mind makes for effective learning and successful development.
I have taught learners of all ages and abilities, supporting them to gain confidence, achieve academic goals and develop lifelong communication skills.
I am passionate about sharing my knowledge because I believe language learning opens doors, empowers individuals and provides opportunities for growth both personally and professionally.

My Approach to Teaching English
My approach is grounded in creating a personalised and supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to take risks and grow in confidence. I use a blend of communicative and task-based methods, ensuring that lessons are both practical and engaging. By integrating grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation into meaningful activities, I help students develop the skills they need to use English effectively in real-life situations.
Teaching Techniques and Methods
I place strong emphasis on interaction and active participation. Lessons typically include short explanations, guided practice and communicative tasks that reflect everyday conversations.
I use authentic materials, such as: articles, videos and dialogues;
to bring language learning closer to real-world use.
Feedback is given constructively, helping students understand both their strengths and areas for improvement.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Each lesson begins with a clear objective, followed by a warm-up activity to activate prior knowledge. I then introduce new language points in context, supported by examples and practice exercises. Students apply their learning through role-plays, discussions or problem-solving tasks. We end with reflection and consolidation to ensure the key learning points are understood and retained.
My Special Characteristics as a Teacher
I am patient, adaptable and attentive to each student’s individual needs. I create an atmosphere where mistakes are viewed as opportunities for progress, which allows learners to build confidence step by step. My lessons are structured and flexible, ensuring students remain motivated and engaged.
Who I Teach
I work with a wide range of learners, from school pupils preparing for assessments (including but not limited to: Cambridge, TOEFL, IB, STX, HF and Danish 9kl./10kl.) to adults seeking to improve their professional or conversational English. I have experience supporting students with diverse backgrounds and needs, tailoring my methods to suit different abilities and goals.
