Om Lena
Hi, my name is Lena! I was born in Ukraine and lived almost 13 years in Denmark. I was a language teacher in Ukraine and a private language tutor in Denmark. On top of it, I became a business consultant after I got a business education and worked for some years with business owners in Europe.
EDUCATION
✧ Master’s degree in teaching from the university in Ukraine.
✧ Bachelor's degree in business from CPH Business in Denmark.
I am very passionate about my work, and that’s why I love taking courses to keep learning, learning from experts, and developing my skills. I’ve completed many courses and certificates in teaching and business development. This gives me an idea of the different learning styles to choose the best one for each student.
WORK EXPERIENCE
After my graduation from the university, I gave private lessons to children and teenagers in Ukraine (for English and playing the piano).
During university in Denmark, I gave weekly Business English and Marketing lessons to individual entrepreneurs and small businesses.
I started giving private online English lessons during the pandemic. I also started working full time as a freelance English teacher, editor, marketer, and translator.

Online English teaching for Standard English for all from former Soviet countries seeking work in international companies.
I am passionate about my work, so I put a lot of effort into helping each student improve spontaneously and naturally, like in real life.
MY LESSONS:
→ Focus on your objectives, needs, and weaknesses. I create exercises and lessons tailored to your needs.
→ Teaching is based on real-life cases from the business world and structured with a balance, mainly conversation and interaction. Based on your preferences, lessons will include vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, writing, reading, and spelling.
→ We will go through "textbook English" and colloquial words, phrases, and expressions used in everyday conversations.
→ Since repetition is crucial to training, there will be a lot of repetition in different formats.
TYPES OF LESSONS:
I offer classes for the primary and intermediate levels. I have experience with a wide variety of student profiles and class types:
1 - CONVERSATION LESSONS: practising naturally using the language, correcting your mistakes, showing you the most natural ways to express something, etc. These classes can be done in several different ways:
1) - Focusing on conversation topics that I prepare
2) - We were improvised as if we were talking about life or a job interview.
3) - Discuss articles, videos, podcasts, etc. that were given as homework.
2 - BUSINESS ENGLISH LESSONS: communication for the work environment, focused on phone calls, meetings, asking for information, making requests, clarifying information, handling complaints, negotiating, etc.
3 - LESSONS FOR TRAVEL OR IMMIGRATION: practising mainly communication in situations that will happen in an English-speaking country, such as buying something, visiting the doctor, making plans with someone, ordering food, asking for directions, describing your weekend, etc.
4 - YOUR CHOICE: I will tell you about the different options we can incorporate into your lessons firstly. You’ll let me know what you’re looking for, and we will create a plan accordingly.
LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION
We can communicate in Russian/Ukrainian if needed but we will use English as much as possible.
I have a university education as a language teacher and worked for some years both with kids and adults. Moreover, my second business education and working experience in business development gave me a good understanding of Business English. I know what works and what doesn’t work, and I can find the best methods to help you overcome your difficulties.
CLASS MATERIAL
Don’t worry about having to buy anything, because I organize the materials for you.
I have material from various textbooks and real life, but I have also made a lot of my own material, based on my experience. This variety will help us pick and choose the best resources for your objectives.
With each class, you will receive a document with what we have done, your mistakes and corrections, which you can access and review any time.
HOMEWORK
If you’d like to have homework to review and practice, I can provide exercises and tools.
Based on your preferences, these can include:
