From a detailed interview with the student, my goal is always to find their goals with the language and show how they already use English in their lives to, then, boost such use in favor of the classes/learning process. Hence, a personalized dynamics can happen and the student can perceive they are gradually employing the second language into their daily lives. Also, my approach is more communicative than structural, but I can fit into specific needs of the student, if necessary.
