Om undervisningen

-Hver lektion inkluderer engelsk grammatik og ordforråd, læsning, lytning, skrivning, masser af tale, Phrasal verber og idiomatiske udtryk, samvirkende TEDTalks og YouTube-videoer i lektionerne. Jeg leder også mine lektioner ved at bruge følgende kursusbøger (Cambridge, Oxford, Longman, Macmillan, Express Publishing, National Geography osv. for blot at nævne nogle få).
-I starten af forløbet skal eleverne udfylde en spørgeskemaformular. Dette hjælper mig med at planlægge undervisningen, så den opfylder elevens behov. Efter at have gennemført den første lektion, foretages eventuelle nødvendige ændringer af samarbejdsplanen. Regelmæssig feedback efter hver lektion og en eller to gange hver måned er normen.
-Mine undervisningsmetoder eller filosofi involverer at forenkle engelsk til mine elevers niveau ved at bruge forskellige innovative undervisningsmetoder, såsom: grammatikoversættelsesmetode, direkte metode, audiolingual metode (ALM), community language learning (CLL), suggestopedia, the silent måde, total fysisk respons (TPR), den naturlige tilgang, kommunikativ sprogundervisning (CLT), kontekstuel undervisning og læring (CTL) og endelig 3P's CELTA undervisningsmetode.
-Med hensyn til eksamensforberedelse (IELTS,FCE,CAE, CPE, Aptis Advanced):

- Vedrørende de ideelle forberedelsestidsrammer for de førnævnte eksamener: den anbefalede minimumsperiode til at gennemføre et effektivt eksamensforberedelsesprogram er minimum 8-12 uger med minimum 3 timer om ugen. Jo flere undervisningstimer om ugen, jo kortere varighed af kurset.

- Men de fleste af de studerende, der kontakter mig, har som regel begrænset tid tilbage før eksamen, så for at få succes med eksamen i sådan en situation, kræver det en teamindsats fra både vejleder og studerende. Det er min pligt som din vejleder at forenkle og lære dig tips og tricks til at klare den respektive eksamen, du forbereder dig til, samt give dig opdateret materiale med høj udbytte og regelmæssig feedback på dine fremskridt. Det er dog din pligt som studerende at dedikere dig til at studere og forstå de oplysninger, du har til rådighed. Hvis vi både lægger et skift og yder vores bedste indsats, er himlen grænsen. Ud fra min erfaring opnår de fleste af mine elever deres ønskede score til eksamen og er altid glade, derfor de gode anmeldelser, de fleste af mine elever giver mig.

-Mit forberedelseskursus til de respektive eksamener er opdelt i en forberedelsesfase, eksamensfasen og til sidst den falske fase.

*I den forberedende fase lærer jeg dig alt, hvad du behøver at vide om eksamen fra strukturen, tips, tricks til, hvordan du kan klare eksamen samt give dig materialer med højt udbytte. Jeg tror på at opbygge et stærkt fundament eller forgældet viden, så de, når de studerende skriver eksamen, tænker som eksaminatorer selv. Dette er baseret på princippet om, at Rom ikke blev bygget på én dag, så jo mere en studerende investerer i det grundlæggende, jo bedre er deres chancer for et vellykket resultat.

* I eksamensfasen reviderer vi det seneste spørgsmål, hvor jeg øger opgavernes sværhedsgrad fra let til kompleks (meget svær). Det skyldes, at jeg skal opbygge elevernes selvtillid med lette papirer, og så tilpasser de sig overarbejde til den sværhedsgrad, der kræves for at bestå eksamen.

* I den falske fase af kurset består de studerende faktiske eksamener, hvor alle eksamensbetingelser er replikeret som selve eksamensdagen. Dette sætter dem i stand til at tilpasse sig stressniveauet ved den faktiske eksamen. Derfor vil de på eksamensdagen, i modsætning til andre studerende, der kan gå i panik eller være nervøse, være i deres egen komfortzone og terræn, hvorfor 100 % succes er garanteret for alle studerende, der gennemgår mit kursus.

-Lektioner udføres via Skype, Microsoft Teams og Zoom eller ethvert andet medie, som er behageligt for eleven.

-Kursusmateriale udleveres til eleverne via power point-præsentation, elektroniske medier, e-mails, WhatsApp, videoer og Google drive.

-Efter introduktionstimen anbefales kommende studerende at betale for minimum to timer eller vælge en pakke med 5 eller 10 lektioner. Dette er en form for engagement såvel som til organisatoriske formål for at gøre det muligt for mig at booke den plads til den studerende og forberede det nødvendige kursusmateriale i overensstemmelse hermed. Ellers ser jeg frem til at modtage dine ønsker og til at påbegynde et samarbejde med dig.

Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?
Ever since I was born, I have always been surrounded by English. This gave me the right platform to learn the intricacies and interrelationships in the English language. However, despite my in-depth knowledge of the language, I wasn't satisfied to be just a native speaker by name hence the reason why I took Cambridge exams to have the necessary certification required to teach English at a professional level.
Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?
For me, it would be Stella Ting-Toomey who described three ways in which culture interferes with effective cross-cultural understanding: 1) Cognitive constraints, 2) Behavior constraints, 3) Emotional constraints

Cognitive constraints are the frames of reference or worldviews that provide a backdrop that all new information is compared to or inserted into.

Behaviour constraints: Each culture has its own rules about proper behaviour which affect verbal and nonverbal communication. Whether one looks the other person in the eye-or not; whether one says what one means overtly or talks around the issue; how close the people stand to each other when they are talking, all of these and many more are rules of politeness which differ from culture to culture.

Emotional constraints: Different cultures regulate the display of emotion differently. Some cultures get very emotional when they are debating an issue. They yell, cry, exhibit their anger, fear, frustration, and other feelings openly. Other cultures try to keep their emotions hidden, exhibiting or sharing only the "rational" or factual aspects of the situation.

All in all, these three key factors assembled together makes for an intriguing puzzle that we call Language and Culture that captivates the human mind and helps us to broaden our horizons.
Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behaviour in the language that you particularly like?
Well, for me, these words have to be ''determined'' and ''never give up''. These words respectively transect all stumbling blocks or obstacles that may hinder a person's success. They help bridge the fine line between failure and success in all ventures that a person may embark on. With the unshakable foundation of determination and never say die attitude, you will kiss all the difficulties you have faced in English goodbye.
Why does speaking this language matter to you?
As the famous English saying goes, ''Language is freedom''. For me, English has become a tool by which I can explore and interact with the surrounding world and environment in which I live. It's a form of empowerment which allows me to spread my wings by meeting and communicating with a diversified group of people from all loops and corners of the world. This has enabled me to broaden my horizons and to become an international person, schooled and brought up by my vast exposure to the English language. Based on the aforementioned reasons, I feel this overwhelming obligation within me to help others by tutoring on the Superprof platform and help to create success stories for my students.
What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?
To my mind, the main difficulty is attitude: many students expect to be spoon-fed by their teachers. With the right mindset, the sky's the limit.
Provide some valuable advice related to your language learning.
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. In learning a new language, there must be equilibrium between hard work and relaxation. Success in the English language is the only outcome whereby all English lovers can sing from the same hymn sheet.
How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?
Well, I would say in many intriguing ways:

1. I have learnt to appreciate my shortcomings and flaws in the English language and work round the clock to eradicate them.

2. Travelling has been a form of inspiration which has also afforded me the opportunity to master and get exposed to the different accents and ways of speaking English.

3. Lastly, my foreign trips have enabled me to broaden my horizon as well as see the world from another angle.
What makes you a Superprof in language?
My education including webinars, courses and lectures that I have taken and the invaluable experience acquired through teaching has made me a better teacher. I have learnt the art of how to simplify the English language to the level my various students understand and to broaden their horizons.
