Why you can trust me
I'm Federico, a native Italian speaker from Rome. I studied Modern Literature at university, with a focus on linguistics and how people actually learn languages — so I'm not just fluent, I understand what makes Italian click (or trip people up) for a non-native speaker.
Outside the classroom, I've spent years working closely with people day to day, managing teams and training new colleagues in a busy, fast-moving environment. That's taught me patience, how to explain things clearly without overcomplicating them, and how to notice when someone needs a different approach.
I genuinely enjoy teaching, and I want every lesson to feel useful and low-pressure — a space where you can make mistakes, ask anything, and actually enjoy speaking Italian. Whatever your reason for learning, whether it's an upcoming trip, a move to Italy, or just curiosity, I'll meet you where you are and help you get there at your own pace.

My approach
I focus on getting students speaking Italian as early and often as possible, rather than front-loading grammar rules that don't stick until they're used. Each lesson mixes structure with real conversation, so grammar is introduced through context — a dialogue, a scenario, a topic the student actually cares about — rather than taught in isolation.
A typical lesson
We usually start with a short warm-up in Italian (talking about the day, a recent trip, an opinion) to get comfortable speaking without pressure. From there we move into a focused topic — ordering food, discussing work, describing a place — where I introduce useful vocabulary and a grammar point that's relevant to it. We practice it together through dialogue and role-play, and I close with a few minutes of feedback on pronunciation and common mistakes, plus a small, practical task to try before the next lesson.
What sets me apart
I studied linguistics and language teaching methodology at university, so I understand why certain grammar points are hard for non-native speakers — not just that they're hard. On top of that, I spent years working in hospitality, which means I'm used to explaining things clearly, reading when someone's confused before they say so, and keeping a relaxed, patient atmosphere even when someone's struggling.

I teach all levels, from complete beginners to advanced speakers who want to sound more natural. I work well with adults learning for travel, relocation, or personal interest — no rigid curriculum, no judgment about pace, just practical progress.
