Om WANCHEN
I am a professional accordionist and chamber musician based in Copenhagen. I studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, where I completed my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees and am currently finishing the Advanced Postgraduate Programme in Chamber Music.
As a member of Gemini Duo, I have performed internationally in venues including Carnegie Hall, the Berlin Philharmonie and the Musikverein, and have won several international accordion and chamber music competitions.
Alongside performing, I have experience teaching, giving masterclasses and working with young musicians in Denmark, China and the United States. In my teaching, I aim to create a supportive and focused environment where students can develop both their technical skills and their own musical expression.
I teach in English and Chinese.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s level, goals, and musical background. I focus not only on technique, but also on musical expression, rhythm, listening, phrasing, and developing confidence as a performer.
I offer classical accordion lessons as well as coaching in chamber music, ensemble playing, interpretation, audition and competition preparation, and general musicianship.
Lessons can be taught in English or Chinese, and are suitable for both young musicians and adults. Whether you are preparing for a performance, working on a specific piece, or simply looking to develop your musical skills, the lessons are adapted to your individual needs.
