I've been dancing salsa for several years mostly in academies in Chile. Also this year in January we presented a show mixing bachata with some aerial moves and salsa style. Salsa has many styles, we'll focus mostly in cuban salsa but we'll practice other styles as salsa caleña (colombian salsa), salsa en línea, etc.

Salsa is life, it should be and feel like walking. Just enjoying the music and having fun. Usually you gotta focus in the technique but there's others aspect more important when it comes to dance salsa.
You gotta connect with the song, feel all the instruments, know about the cultural background cause all those small details will make a huge impact in your dance journey!!!
