I’m a high school graduate, having just completed the IB diploma with 41 points, achieving a top mark (7) in both Mathematics AA Higher Level and Physics Higher Level.
Mathematics and physics have always been my favorite school subjects growing up. I found them very interesting not only because of the way mathematics compliments physics, but also because of how practical they are to us when it comes to answering difficult questions about everything around us.
I hope to pass this enthusiasm that I have for these subjects onto my students, so that they can see physics and math as more than just school subjects, but as fundamental tools that have helped us, and continue to help us, understand the universe and everything inside it better.

The goal in my classes is to make the student feel comfortable in the subject, because that opens the student's eyes to the beauty of the subject. This is especially applicable to the subjects of mathematics and physics, where a lot of in-depth comprehension is needed in order to see why the subject is important in our world.
The above-mentioned goal will be achieved through the following teaching method.
Before starting any tutoring, I will ask the student what topic in the subject particularly, they feel weak in, or are not very comfortable in.
Then, in order to make the student feel comfortable with that topic, I will teach them the topic thoroughly, while addressing any concerns the student has throughout the teaching. After this, the student and I will do practice problems together, so we can put the theory into use. And finally, the student will be given their own problems to solve (either during the session or as homework), and if they need assistance with those problems, I will of course be available to help them with any difficulty.
Alternatively, another approach can be taken: if the student feels stressed about an assignment which they need to turn in, we can spend the tutoring session looking over the assignment, and assisting the student with questions they find difficult.
The type of tutoring session (the former or the latter) can be chosen by the student.
Having just graduated from the IB diploma, I know what it's like to be a stressed out student, feeling the burden schoolwork piling up. However, I also know how to get past these times, without needing to stress too much over them. I plan to show my students how I have a that, through the use of time management and proper planning.
